Who/What are judges?
This English word “judge” doesn’t really do justice to what the original Hebrew was talking about. These “judges” were seen as more as prophets and troubleshooters. They saved Israel from themselves as well as others. The only time the actual Hebrew word for “judge” is used is talking about God.
He is THE Judge.

In chapter 1 we see this book picking up where Joshua left off. The Isrealites incomplete conquest and failure to completely take the land and Apostasy.
It’s the start of a new study on a new book. Judges has some weird and wonderful characters and storylines. If you thought the bible was all nice and lovely and about holding hands and dancing in meadows…think again!
After recieving funding from the Home Office, we are running 4 month block sessions with the aim of gang intervention.
At Oakham we understand the power of music & art. It is with this in mind that we are teaching musical instruments, forming mini-bands, creating band ID, posters (advertising gigs), CD artwork. As well as recording their own song on a CD at a professional studio AND performing live with other established bands.
This course is set to run 3 times a year, culminating in a celebration end-of-year gig.
